TaskKoala

Terms of service

Last updated: 10 June 2026

These terms govern your use of TaskKoala (“the service”) operated from the United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

TaskKoala provides online tools to organise work in trees and leaves and work through them in focus mode. Features and limits may change over time. We describe current plans on the pricing page.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for unlawful purposes or in violation of applicable UK or local law.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users’ accounts.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service (including excessive automated requests).
  • Upload malicious code or content that infringes others’ rights.
  • Resell or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the trees, leaves, and related content you create. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, and display that content solely to operate the service for you. You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate law or third-party rights.

5. Paid plans & payments

Paid features are billed in pounds sterling (£) unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges for monthly plans until you cancel. Lifetime access is a one-time fee for the features described at purchase.

Prices may change for new purchases; we will not increase your recurring subscription price without notice where required by law or your payment provider’s rules. Refunds are handled in line with UK consumer rights where applicable and our reasonable discretion for digital services — contact us if you believe a charge was made in error.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions via Settings → Billing in the app. Lifetime access may also be earned through our referral programme (see section 6).

6. Referral programme

Registered users may share a personal invite link (for example /invite/your-code) with a custom code they choose, subject to our availability rules. If someone creates a new account through your valid invite link, we may record you as their referrer. Only one referrer applies per new account; we do not apply referrals to existing accounts retroactively.

A referral counts as qualified when that person verifies their email address for their account. Unverified sign-ups do not count. When you have five qualified referrals, we may grant you lifetime access to the paid features described on our pricing page, without payment through our payment provider. This reward is personal to your account, has no cash value, is non-transferable, and is not a sale or discount code.

You must not abuse the programme (including self-referral, duplicate or fake accounts, automated sign-ups, or misleading promotion). We may disqualify referrals, withhold rewards, or revoke lifetime access granted through the programme if we reasonably suspect abuse. We may change the referral threshold, pause, or end the programme at any time; changes apply prospectively. Rewards already granted may be revoked only where permitted by law or for abuse.

In the app, referrers may see the first names or display names of people who qualified through their link, not email addresses. See our privacy policy for how we handle personal data.

7. Availability & changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or events outside our control may cause downtime. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.

8. Intellectual property

The service, branding, software, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. These terms do not grant you rights to our trademarks or code except as needed to use the service in the normal way.

9. Disclaimer

The service is provided for general productivity purposes. It is not professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise). To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as lost profits or data) arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for claims relating to the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in that period or (b) £100, except where a higher minimum is required by law.

11. Ending your use

You may stop using the service at any time and delete your account from settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or if required for legal or security reasons. On termination, your right to use the service ends; sections that reasonably should survive will continue to apply.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights if you are resident in another part of the United Kingdom.
